Basic Manners

Wouldn’t it be nice if your dog always did what you wanted? But he doesn’t – probably because he needs training. It’s never too late – or too soon – to train your dog. Why not start now – and do it right using positive, reward-based training methods? Communicate clearly with your dog and lay the foundation for lifelong great behavior in our Basic Manners class.

  • An introductory obedience class that covers the basic behavioral bases – including sit, stay, down, come, wait, leave it, loose-leash walking, and more
  • Perfect for families who have just gotten a new dog and those who want to start their “old” dog’s training better late than never
  • Limited to six dogs who are older than 14 weeks

AKC Canine Good Citizen

The American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Program rewards dogs for good manners and people for being responsible dog owners. As a certified CGC evaluator, Den’s Dog Training prepares dogs for the CGC test measuring their mastery of ten skills that every good dog needs to know. Passing the official test will earn your dog a certificate and title – so you can add “CGC” after his name, just like he’d earned a college degree.

  • We build on the skills learned in our Better Manners class and apply them to real-life test situations
  • We administer the official CGC test as an option in an extra session after the class has ended
  • Limited to five dog/handler teams who have taken our Better Manners class or received instructor approval

What's that Smell?

Dogs smell the world in much the same way we see it – because scent is their most powerful sense. Dogs’ noses are literally thousands of times more sensitive than ours, and they have a natural need to sniff. In our What’s that Smell? class, you teach your dog to track a scent and retrieve a specific hidden object. This develops and refines your dog’s nasal muscles so he can use his nose to better know his world.

  • A fun, noncompetitive class for dogs of any age, size, breed, or physical ability/disability
  • Play fun scent games with very practical home uses – like find the keys, wallet, cell phone, and any other commonly misplaced items
  • Limited to six dog/handler teams who have taken our Basic Manners class or received instructor approval

When: Five weekly sessions – TBD

Price: $155
