Dennis Champagne
The “Den” in Den’s Dog Training
Dennis Champagne is a certified professional dog trainer and graduate of the Animal Behavior College. A Massachusetts native, he has been training dogs professionally since 2008, and teaches dog training classes at Littleton Paws Animal Hospital.
Dennis is a certified evaluator for the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Program, and an evaluator for the Association of Pet Dog Trainer’s Canine Life and Social Skills (C.L.A.S.S.) Program. He is also a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and the Northeast Dog Trainer Posse, a group of professional dog trainers in the Northeast who primarily use positive reinforcement methods.
Before becoming a professional dog trainer, Dennis studied applied animal learning theory while earning a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Iowa State University. He also worked many years as a veterinary technician at The Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Springfield, MA. Through these combined experiences Dennis gained valuable knowledge he applies to his dog training and handling.
As a professional dog trainer, Dennis is committed to helping all dogs, and the dogs who need the most help are in shelters. He has volunteered at the Thomas J. O’Connor Adoption and Animal Control Center since 2005, helping socialize and train shelter dogs for adoptability. Lack of proper training and socialization is the number one reason most dogs are returned to shelters. With Den’s Dog Training, Dennis aims to develop strong people-pet relationships so dogs will be well-mannered, well-praised, and very happy family members.
